From the European Union, local energy communities have been defined as those that: "The main social objective will be to offer energy benefits, from which environmental, economic or social benefits are also derived to its members or to the locality in which it operates, more than generating financial profitability The activities to be carried out will be, among others: the generation of energy mainly from renewable sources, distribution, supply, consumption, aggregation, energy storage, the provision of energy efficiency services , the provision of charging services for electric vehicles or other energy services. "
Spain has not yet transposed any regulations and the EU has made it clear that allowing local communities to have functions such as distribution will not be mandatory but will be decided by each country. Even so, the IDAE has already produced a guide (Guide for the development of Instruments for the Promotion of Local Energy Communities, written by Aiguasol,
https://www.idae.es/publicaciones/guia-para-el-desarrollo-de-instrumentos -of-promotion-of-local-energetic-communities ) so it seems that it is in the line of promoting them. ICAEN has also recently published a guide (
http://icaen.gencat.cat/web/.content/10_ICAEN/17_publicacions_informes/11_altres_publicacions/arxius/SmartEnergyCommunities.pdf). For this reason I find it interesting to know more and better the implications and possibilities both to be pioneers in the creation of communities when we have legislation, as to be able to influence it and have the maximum cooperative elements, social and solidarity economy and of citizen empowerment.
Possible entities that come to give us a talk: IDAE, Aiguasol, ICAEN, Rescoop ...
